And, we're OPEN!

As always, we love to know what our audiences think of the show (we already know what people who will never see the show think of it). Post your comments and observations, slams or raves...we're big kids, we can handle it.

(Also...feel free to post photos from the performance here, too!)

To all of the cast and crew of TJQT... Bravo! I was apprehensive about a student-written high school play, but you guys blew me away. The technical aspects of this production were phenomenal: from the spinning Dr. Zin's chair to the cat puppet, the heart-breaking music during the slow-motion sequence to the haphazard distress messages. It was all spot-on and no detail went unnoticed. As far as performances go, I think White's portrayal of Jonny captured his bravado and angst quite well. Rashid Kazi was a wonderful wise and devoted companion, and Bridgeman's Bandit had so much character and mastery (I have never seen that type of puppetry! Very nicely done.) I think Ovington's Dr. Quest reminded me of the original cartoon character in appearance and mannerisms the most of anyone. The cast of supporting characters were impressive across the board: all of the ninjas, kabuki actors, schoolgirls. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Seriously guys, the costuming, make-up, choreography, scenery, acting, and heart of this production were all so evident. It was better than TI. Keep it up Mann Show!

I haven't been yet, but was at the last two dress rehearsals, and what I saw there was just the first gelling of something that really is rarely ever done. That is, to make a play from scratch: Conceive of it, write it, cast it, produce it, act it...

Was TI better? Of course it was, as a simple stage play. TI is an old story that's been around for a long time, with a fail-safe script and plan that has been put to the stage many times. JQ is something else entirely that can't be compared to TI.

So to all of you on the JQ team who stuck it out and worked their assigned role to the max, I look forward to applauding you when I get the chance to see an official performance. To all of you, be satisfied in what you've accomplished on this project, and don't be swayed by a few poor sports who didn't have it in them to stick around and do what you did do! Congratulations. You're goig places!

DOCTOR EYEBALL

I must agree with Doctor Eyeball. The play was very good, the crew and cast went through a lot of hard work to produce this play. And as always, it's turned out wonderfully. Yet, you still have those few sports who are mad about it. Cuz they thought the play was written for a certain group of people, yet, they didn't even stay around to watch the success of this production.

Yet, you can't compare Treasure Island to Jonny Quest. They were both brilliant, yet two completely different types of plays. TI was definitely more appealing to an older audience, because their was no love story. Some say that's what makes TI better than JQ. I thoroghly enjoyed JQ, and I appreciate another great job done by the cast and crew.

Congrats, Coach!
